Criteris per triar escola

Ara que estem al Març, mes de preinscripcions i de jornades de portes obertes, té sentit parlar sobre quins criteris seguir, a l´ hora de triar una decisió tan important, cal remarcar què al final, es tracta d´ una decisió molt personal i què son els pares els que millor coneixen al seu fill o filla i les seves necessitats.

Tot i així, hi ha una serie de punts, als que s´ ha de prestar atenció:

  • No tots els nens encaixen a totes les escoles, per tant es important que us pregunteu, com es el vostre fill/a? Com aprèn? Què necessita per sentir-se a gust i segur? Com es relaciona amb els adults? I amb els altres nens? S´ha de pensar que si un nen es introvertit, no es sentirà a gust en una escola molt gran.

  • El mètode d´ aprenentatge, si es tracta d´ una escola tradicional o bé per projectes, religiosa o laica,  pública o privada, això també depèn del gust dels pares.

  • Com tracten problemes com les dificultats d´ aprenentatge o l´ assetjament escolar, quin procediment segueixen.

  • Altres qüestions, com que ensenyin idiomes, el nivell acadèmic, que treballin la creativitat i la intel·ligència emocional, per a alguns pares també es important, que estigui a prop de casa per comoditat o què ofereixi activitats extra escolars.

De tota manera, el meu consell personal, es què no cal obsessionar-se, ja què si resulta que la elecció no ha estat adequada, sempre podem canviar d´ escola i tot i que a priori no sembli el més adequat, tampoc es la fi del món i pot resultar molt positiu.

Escola Tradicional VS Escola Nova  (per projectes):

Un punt què ara mateix genera molts dubtes en els pares, es la irrupció de les escoles que treballen per projectes i quins avantatges o desavantatges presenten en relació a les escoles tradicionals.

L´ aprenentatge basat en projectes (ABP o PBL, project based learning), es una estratègia d´ensenyament què té a l´ alumne com a protagonista del seu propi aprenentatge.

En aquesta metodologia, l´ aprenentatge de coneixements té la mateixa importància que l´ adquisició d´ habilitats i actituds.

Tot i que sembli una cosa molt moderna, té els seus orígens al segle XIX i es pot considerar com una continuació de projectes com la Institució Lliure d´ Ensenyament (ILE) de Francisco Giner de los Ríos, també  es basa en psicòlegs del segle XX com Jean Piaget o John Dewey, el lema del qual era “aprendre fent”.

Per posar un exemple, per estudiar el tema de la antiga Grècia, es formen grups d´ alumnes que es dediquen a diferents àrees i les assignatures s´ aborden de manera transversal, per exemple: la antiga Grècia des del punt de vista històric, literari, de les ciències socials, les matemàtiques, etc…

Desprès, el treball de cadascú es posa en comú, així, com que treballen segons els seus interessos, estan més motivats i a més, el fet de cercar informació de diverses fonts, fomenta el pensament crític i distingir entre informació veraç i informació falsa.
